T1D Kits for Kids’ mission is to help newly-diagnosed type 1 diabetic children transition into their new lives with the disease. To achieve this, we make hand-made kits that include some medical supplies and comfort items that we hope will bring a little happiness and alleviate the financial burden of diabetic-related costs.
Goal #1
T1D Kits for Kids’ first goal is to donate our hand-made kits to different schools in Westchester, starting with elementary schools. With the help of the nurses at these schools, we will ensure that there are enough kits donated so that each diagnosed type 1 diabetic will receive a kit for free.
Goal #2
T1D Kits for Kids’ second goal is to offer our donations to various hospitals and diabetes centers throughout Westchester, working with the diabetes and endocrinology departments to send the kits to type 1 diabetic patients that are either newly-diagnosed or coming in for an annual check-up.
Goal #3
T1D Kits for Kids’ third goal is to grow as an organization and expand beyond Westchester schools, hospitals, and diabetes centers. We hope to send our kits to low-income areas throughout all of New York and leave a lasting impact on the T1D community.
